Note: This raag uses notes of the higher octave notes much more and therefore called Uttarang Pradhan Raag. It is also Sandhi Prakash raag as it is performed mostly when night and day meet. This raag belongs to Marwa Thaat.

1. Raag Sohni or Sohini or Sohani uses 5 notes in ascending and 6 notes in descending order and Pa is not used in this raag and re is komal flat and week, Ma’ is Tivra higher and other swar notes are shuddh normal. Please see Aroh, Avroh and Pakad of this raag

2. It’s Vadi swar is Dha and Samvadi Ga. It’s time of playing is fourth period of night (4am to 7am early morning).

3. Pluck Da & Ra alternate. When Da & Ra are played together, it becomes Dir.
