Sitar Raag Shivranjani – Slow Composition (Vilambit Gat) – Toda 3

This composition is in TEEN  TAAL  (16 beats) and this Toda will start at SUM ( X ) which is 1st beat. Play Sthai first as show below and then start the Toda at SUM (X) – 1st beat:

Note:  This Toda 3 shows how merging with Tabla can be from start of Composition (Gat) Sthai.

1. Raag Shivranjani uses only 5 notes in ascending and descending order and ‘g’ is Komal (flat) and M and N are not used.

2. It’s Vadi Swar is ‘P’ and Samvadi ‘S’ and time of playing and singing is midnight.

3. It is a Slow composition therefore set your Tabla at a slow speed. The composition (Gat) starts from 12th beat. Remember X (the sum) is the first beat.

4. Pluck Da & Ra alternate. When Da & Ra are played together, it becomes Dir.
