5. A dot after the note shows higher octave
6. A dot before the note will show lower octave.
7. This Gat (composition) is in TEEN TAAL, which is 16 Beats and is written at 3rd row. It starts at X which is the first Beat of the TAAL and is also called SUM – joining.
8. Please note that in the notation, Sa has been replaced by S, Re by R, Ga by G and so on. By now with enough practice of Alankars you will be familier. This is to facilitate full notation in a smaller space.
9. When two notes are side by side (touching each other), they are together in one beat. When there is one note alone, it is one beat. A dash ‘-‘ is a gap and one beat if it is alone otherwise with other joined notes together one beat.
10. Pure (normal) notes are represented by Capital Letters R G M D N and Komal (flat) by small letters r g d n (only r g d n can be komal). M which can be normal and Tivra is represented by M’ as Tivra (sharp). S and P do not change, they are normal only.
