1. Raag Des uses 5 notes in ascending and 7 notes in descending order.

2. In this Raag Ni or N is Shuddh (Normal) in ascending and Komal (Flat) in descending represented by n. See Aroh, Avroh and Pakad to understand ‘Chalan’ or the way notes are used in this Raag.

3. Pluck Da & Ra alternate or as shown in the notation. When Da & Ra are played together, it becomes Dir.

  1. Raag Malkauns uses only 5 notes in ascending and descending order. In this raga, R and P are not used and Ga, Dha, & Ni are komal (flat) represented by g, d & n
  2. Vilambit Gat (Slow Composition) is also called Masitkhani Gat
  3. Stretching (meand) is very slow. Get enough practice for accuracy of notes while streching. This composition uses lot of meand.
